our Butters
-
Bacuri Butter is sustainable harvested fro the Brazilian Rainforest. It is a powerful Butter that works at the cellular level to revitalize the skin. It has a scent characteristic of dark roast coffee and soil.
-
Cocoa Butter is one of the richest butters due to its fatty acid and cocoa polyphenol content, making it deeply moisturizing for your skin. You will find it in our Triple Butter Soap and some of our Lotions. It is comedogenic, so you won’t find it in our facial products.
-
Rich and emollient, this Brazilian Amazonian Butter helps restore elasticity to skin. You will find it in our Black Raspberry Butter Bar.
-
Kokum Butter is Cocoa Butter’s closest cousin as far as performance goes. It is a hard Butter and extremely rich and nourishing for the skin. You will find it in our Triple Butter Soaps and our Butter Bar hard lotion bar, among other products.
-
We use Virgin Mango Butter for its purity and luscious, dreamy consistency. You will find this in several of our facial products, most notably our Whipped Face Butter.
-
An unrefined, sustainable product from the Amazon Rainforest. Rainforest Butters are in a league of their own as far as moisturizing! Murumuru does have an earthy scent that can be overpowering, so we use is as an accent Butter in our Buttery Soft Lotion Concentrate.
-
This Shea butter is Organic and naturally filtered through Bentonite Clay making it a firmer Butter. We use this when the texture or scent demand it, such as our Deodorant and Butter Bars.
-
This particular Shea Butter comes from the Nile River Valley region in East Africa. It is richer, creamier and more exotic than West African Shea, and is only around 1% of all Shea harvested. Because of its incredible nourishing properties and absorbent qualities, we use it in our Face Butter and Face Lotion Bars.
-
This is the Shea we use in most of our soaps, including all of our facial soaps. Cold processed and raw, it retains its skin benefits and helps make a great soap.
-
Shorea is beneficial due to being high in fatty acids and anti-inflammatory properties. This creamy, rich butter is also known as Sal Butter. We use it in many of our products.
-
Another Brazilian Amazonian Butter, this Butter lends amazing softness to our Original Five Butter Bar!

High in Vitamin E and antioxidants Argan has a long, well deserved reputation for loving skin and even hair. It is especially good for aging faces.
-
Avocado Oil is a very smooth, nourishing oil that works it wonders in both leave on products and soap. You will love it for its creamy smooth bubbles in our Triple Butter Soaps.
-
Organic Castor is rich in ricinoleic acid; an acid that penetrates deeply for help with dry, cracked skin. In spite of its thick richness its low comedogenicity makes it ideal for the face as well. We use Organic Castor only, and you will find it in most of our products.
-
Raw and unfiltered, this Organic Coconut oil retains all of its skin nourishing benefits and is the only Coconut oil we use.
-
Jojoba is commonly called an oil, but is actually a liquid wax that is similar to the sebum in human skin. Because of its similarity to human skin it is very nourishing for most people’s skin. We mostly use a pure Organic Jojoba. We also use several Jojobas that are already blended with the stronger essential oils, such as Rose or Chamomile. This is a way that is common to be able to work with extremely strong Essential Oils without going over the recommended usage amounts.
-
It would be difficult to exaggerate the silky smoothness of Meadowfoam Oil. If silk could be turned to oil this would be it! Smooth and dreamy, you will find it in many of our soap and leave on products!
Our oils/FATS
-
Olive Oil has long been revered as the best oil to make soap with. It has very nourishing qualities that leave your skin feeling deeply cared for. Organic Extra Virgin is the only olive oil we use in all of our regular site products. For our Special Edition Soaps when color is an issue, we will occasionally use Olive Oil that is lighter in color.
-
We use only Sustainable and Organic Palm Oil. Palm is a very good oil for soap. It helps make a great lather and a harder, longer lasting bar of soap. We have a blog on why we choose to use Palm oil if you would like more information.
-
Passionfruit Oil is especially good for aging faces to help reduce the appearance of fine lines and help keep skin supple. You will find it in some of our leave on face products.
-
Aging facial skin is just one of the many applications for this excellent Super Oil. This oil has a fatty acid profile that helps lock in moisture, keeping skin supple.
-
Sacha Inchi Oil is rich in antioxidants, fatty acids, and vitamins, making it A “Super Oil” for your skin.
-
Shea Oil has a very smooth, silky consistency. It comes from the same Nut as Shea Butter, and has the same properties, but in liquid form. Often thought to be more potent than the Butter, it is a truly delightful Oil.
-
Our Tallow is from American raised, grass fed and finished cattle. Tallow is a fat, and has the closest profile to human skin we currently know of. It is an excellent source of skin nutrients, strengthening and nourishing your skin.
-
Aloe Vera is well reputed to be good for most skin types! We grow most of our Aloe here on site, and use the gel from inside the leaves. This Aloe Gel is used in our several of our soaps. Aloe Vera in concentrated extract form is used in some of our body products.
-
We source our beeswax only from America. We use natural, yellow beeswax for most of our products, and the filtered beeswax we use is only filtered naturally.
-
You will find a wide variety of botanical extracts in many of our leave on products, and a few soaps. From Chamomile to Rosehips, and many others, these extracts pack a powerful punch due to their concentrated nature. These extracts are skin nurturing at its best!
-
Buttermilk has a high Lactic Acid content which acts as a gentle exfoliant, helping remove dead skin cells. It can also help tone and hydrate skin. We use it in a few of our soaps.
-
Citric Acid is derived from fruit. We use only non GMO, Food Grade, Organic Approved, Citric acid. Many soaps use EDTA to help prevent rancidity. However, we have committed to never using harmful chemicals of any kind. Natural Citric Acid is the answer! It is used in a very small amount in our Tallow and Milk Soaps to help prevent rancidity, and soap scum.
-
We use a variety of natural Clays, from Dead Sea Clay to various Kaolins and Brazilian Clays. These are used for their skin benefits, but they also impart beautiful natural colors.
-
You love Cocoa, but Cocoa also loves you! Many health care experts tell us this, but skin care experts also assure us that Cocca has many skin benefits due to its high vitamin, antioxidant, and caffeine content!
-
Goat Milk is uniquely beneficial for skin care, and specifically for soap. It is creamy and smooth on your skin and helps nuture your skin with vitamins and minerals.
-
Marshmallow Root has gentle smooth, soothing, anti-inflammatory properties.
-
Rosemary Oleoresin is a powerful anti-oxidant! We use it in leave on products to help prevent rancidity, and in Soap to help prevent the free floating Oils (the reason our soap is better for your skin) from rancidity as well.
Other ingredients
-
This is the Queen’s food! Queen of the bee hive that is.
Full of B vitamins, antioxidants, nutrients, and enzymes that support skin renewal, this royal food loves your face. You will find it in a few of our leave on face products. -
You will find Salt in a few of our Deodorants and a few Soaps such as Dead Sea Soap. We use only high quality, natural Salts such as Dead Sea Salt and Himalayan Salt.
-
Silk feels wonderful in skin care products! But it also actually helps care for your skin. Silk is a protein that helps skin retain its moisture. Our Silk is Cruelty free, which simply means it’s harvested from empty silk cocoons.
-
This is the form of Lye that is used to make bar soap. We use ONLY food grade Sodium Hydroxide. Food grade is very important as other forms often have heavy metals in them. Sodium hydroxide is a PH adjuster and it is impossible to make soap without it. (No matter what you hear on social media, lol.)
-
We use only natural, non-nano food grade Titanium Dioxide. We use it to decorate a few of the tops of our soaps.
-
We use a wide variety of Herbal Teas in our Soaps. From Chai to Lavender and Lemongrass, Herbal Teas lend extra nourishing qualities to soap.
-
Vitamin B5 supports your skin’s barrier by acting as a humectant and emollient. You will find this in a few of our leave on products.
-
Vitamin C is a powerful anti-oxidant that helps protect skin from free radical damage. You will find it in our Whipped Face butter.
-
We use only the natural form of Vitamin E. It is better for your skin, naturally preserves, and helps soften skin. Allergies can be a concern, but most allergies to Vitamin E are due to the prolific use of the synthetic form of the vitamin.
-
We carefully cultivate our own yogurt, then drain the whey in order to provide you the very best whey for our Triple Butter Soaps. Whey is recognized as a rich source of nutrients in a similar way to Goat Milk.
-
We use natural Zinc Oxide that is non-nano. This simply means the particle size is too large to be absorbed into the skin. Zinc Oxide helps soothe skin, and the main ingredient in most natural Sunscreens.
